The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters launched the "Hokkaido 179 Municipalities Support Ambassador" project in 2013, in which players contribute to community development and revitalization by interacting with local residents in all cities, towns, and villages throughout Hokkaido. An online lottery was held in advance by the mayors and representatives of 17 municipalities to select the 2022 support ambassadors, and the results were announced today, November 30th (Tuesday), at the "Fan Festival 2021." Next year, a total of 36 players will serve as support ambassadors in 6 cities, 9 towns, and 2 villages. In 2022, the 10th year of the project, it will have completed a full cycle of visiting all 179 municipalities in Hokkaido.
Municipalities matched with a support ambassador can feature the player's photo on posters, newsletters, websites, blogs, etc., for the entire one-year term. In addition, they can collaborate with the ambassador to promote local products, and the player can cooperate in events and activities. Furthermore, the team can use the player's image free of charge for a limited time, subject to their approval.
