Hokuren Agricultural Cooperative Federation has been collaborating with the Fighters since 2022 on an initiative called "Mirai Smile," with the aim of fostering future smiles through the power of food and sports.
As part of Mirai Smile's social contribution activities, a ceremony was held on September 19th (Thursday) to present baseball game tickets and other items to Kosei Gakuen, a children's welfare facility run by the social welfare corporation Jotokukai. The aim is to convey dreams and excitement to local children through watching professional baseball games, to let them experience the fun and wonder of sports, and to give them a special day.

On Saturday, September 21st, the fourth and final session of the year of "Mirai Smile School," a food education program that allows participants to experience Hokkaido agriculture, will be held.
Fighters alumnus Kenshi Sugiya appeared as the "principal."
Together with Polly, we learned about the joy and importance of food with elementary school students from Kitahiroshima City at a small "outdoor school" in Kururu no Mori.

While the pizza dough was resting, we harvested the corn and bell peppers that we planted at school in June.
While the pizza is baking, we'll study with quizzes and other activities.
Now, finally, it's time to enjoy the pizza topped with vegetables I planted myself!

Everyone finished the four-session program with satisfied expressions. Through various experiences, they learned about the joy and importance of food.
As the first principal of Mirai Smile School, I participated in the first session and today's fourth session. I think everyone enjoyed learning. The pizza they made themselves using vegetables they grew themselves tasted different and more delicious than the pizza they usually eat. I hope that through opportunities like this, the children, including myself, will feel a renewed sense of gratitude towards producers and those who prepare the food. I would definitely like to participate again if there is another opportunity like this. Thank you very much.
