We would like to inform you that Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters pitcher Takumi Yamamoto underwent a cleaning surgery on his right elbow joint at a hospital in Sapporo today, June 23rd (Tuesday), and the surgery was successfully completed. He is expected to return to playing in approximately three months.
It's incredibly disappointing to leave the team right before the crucial summer season, but I've decided to have surgery so I can pitch with all my might on the mound again. I'm grateful to the team for encouraging me and to everyone who has supported me, and I'll come back stronger.
